In 2024, together we achieved major milestones, strengthening the fight against organized retail crime (ORC) and fostering collaboration between law enforcement and private sector partners.
Expanded or membership by more than 550 new members
Hosted an impactful conference at Tyson’s Corner bringing together more than 100 investigators
Expanded our Board of Directors with industry leaders who fully committed to MAORCAs missions
Developed resources for investigators at www.maorca.org

Expanded Membership Opportunities
One of the most exciting developments for MAORCA in 2025 is the expansion of our membership options. We are now welcoming individuals with a vested interest in our mission to join MAORCA as General Members—a new category that includes those with experience in retail, security, law enforcement, investigations, or related industries. Unlike our existing membership, which grants access to Auror, these General Members will be vital in supporting MAORCA’s nonprofit initiatives and contributing to the fight against ORC in other meaningful ways.
Additionally, we are introducing two new specialized and limited membership categories:
Intelligence Exchange – Aimed at ORC Investigators who focus on intelligence gathering and strategic insights, enabling members to share actionable intelligence in a trusted environment and work ORC cases collaboratively.
Investigative Support – Designed to expand investigations by bringing in other investigators with vested interests and impacts from specific ORC groups.
These new membership tiers ensure that MAORCA continues to grow as an inclusive and effective organization, bringing together diverse professionals dedicated to combating retail crime.
Upcoming Conferences and Events
MAORCA is doubling down on its commitment to education and collaboration in 2025 with an exciting lineup of conferences and networking events. Mark your calendars! We will kick off the year with a Spring Conference on April 14 in Hampton, VA, followed by a Summer Conference in Baltimore, and wrapping up with a Fall Conference likely in Northern Virginia. These events will provide invaluable opportunities to learn from industry experts, share intelligence, and strengthen partnerships across sectors. Stay tuned for more details!

Strengthening Partnerships for a Stronger Impact
Collaboration has always been at the heart of MAORCA’s mission, and in 2025, we’re taking it to the next level. This year, we are actively partnering with other investigative groups, retail alliances, and industry federations that share our goals. By aligning our efforts, we can amplify our impact, enhance information sharing, and create a unified front against organized retail crime. Whether it’s through joint training initiatives, legislative advocacy, or intelligence-sharing programs, these partnerships will help all of us be more effective in fighting retail crime.
